Lasagna in San Salvador – Italian Restaurant

San Salvador has a wide variety to choose from when it comes to dining out. Sometimes I like to mix it up with El Rosal, an Italian restaurant located at 11 Calle Poniente, Col Escalon.

El Rosal earns its praise for it’s great food, quality service, and family-feel. The pizza is a personal favorite, as is the lasagna, and the frozen lemonade is, of course, a must order. Just make sure you save room for dessert!

While there are plenty of places to choose from, and lots of Italian in San Salvador, I still find myself going back to El Rosal time and time again for its good eats!

The Human Rights Project – You Can Make a Difference

The Gringo Report team was recently contacted by the Human Rights Project regarding their new mission: “To exceed the act of inspiring and successfully move people from apathy to activism.”

The Gringo Report has teamed up with the Human Rights Project in calling others to action.

To get the ball rolling, the Human Rights Project has developed a beautifully illustrated full color book entitled, The Trouble with the Alphabet, written and illustrated by Caryn West. The book takes you around the world to 26 countries A-Z where children are suffering. Each country featured is also connected to a charitable organization that receives part of the proceeds from each book purchased, as well as all purchases from TheTroubleWiththeAlphabet.com.

Santa Ana Hotel – Casa Frolaz

If you find yourself looking for a place to stay in Santa Ana, I would recommend Casa Frolaz. The place is clean and quiet, and the staff makes you feel right at home. The owner, Javier Diaz, makes himself available to guests, helping to solve any problems and answer any questions you might have. He even helps guests to organize trips throughout the country!

It is one of my favorite places to stay in El Salvador, and I will keep staying there every time I go back to visit. There are two sitting areas: a living room and a little garden that are perfect for just hanging out and relaxing in. You can also use the kitchen and Read more

Obama's Election and El Salvador

Perusing the internet I found an interesting compilation of statements Obama has made regarding Latin America. Just the Facts, “a civilian’s guide to U.S. defense and security assistance to Latin America and the Caribbean” is the source of the compilation, which can be seen by clicking here.

It’s hard to say when Obama will get around to implementing his plans for Latin America, what with everything else he has on in his plate.

Just the Facts also details the Official Descriptions of Aid to El Salvador, which include the implementing of stricter drug and gang policies and the encouragement of cultural interchange programs.
