Entrance Requirements for El Salvador

To enter El Salvador as a United States citizen you will need a current U.S. passport, and either a Salvadoran visa or a one-entry tourist card.

It is not necessary to purchase your tourist card before coming to El Salvador; you can buy a tourist card from the immigration officials at the airport. The cost for a tourist card is US $10 and the card is good for 90 days.

Where to Stay in the Apaneca Region

Juayua Waterfalls – Los Chorros de Juayua

There is more to Juayúa than just the food fair! The town gets its name from the Nahuatl, which means “Purple Orchids River.”

For nature lovers there is plenty to do in the “purple orchid rivers” of Juayúa. One of the most popular places to visit it “Los Chorros de la Calera” a set of waterfalls, as well as “La Laguna de las Ranas” (The Frog Lagoon).
