The Best Coffee of El Salvador…

Best coffee in the world

“The Best Coffee in El Salvador is Produced Here”

While that proud sign may ring true – the Juayua region is known for it’s fertile, coffee-producing land – it is almost certain that the best coffee in El Salvador is not drank here. In fact, around countries such as El Salvador and Guatemala, finding a decent cup of joe isn’t as easy as you might think. Why?

Exportation.

The richest and the best coffee produced in these world-class high altitude fertile coffee regions most often is not purchased by the locals, but rather the big names in coffee, the most famous of such being Starbucks.

The coffee farms in the region add to the amazing scenery as the paths in and among the plants twist along the hillside landscape. The wind barriers set to protect the coffee from the sometimes whipping mountain winds, are made from coffee bushes, and they zig-zag along the edge of the plantations, adding to the scenery.

At 1455 meters above sea level it is easy to see why the Juayua/Apaneca region is so popular for coffee growth. Many of the hotels in the area will arrange for tours of coffee farms, and they are impossible to miss as you drive along the winding mountain roads.
