Want to tour some coffee farms in Apaneca?
Hook up with Marcos Batres, a coffee producer and exporter for COFINANZAS ORGANIC COFFEE GROUP who owns several farms in the area.
At the Santa Teresa Wet Mill you can see some of the latest coffee producing technology in the world. It is one of the most modern mills in Central America, and the only mill in the world to use Geothermal Energy to pre-dry the coffee. The Eco-OK mill is Certified Organic and produces premium gourmet coffee.

The use of geothermal energy in coffee production has certainly put the COFINANZAS’ Santa Teresa Wet Mill on the map. In 2003 it received the National Environmental Award for using geothermal energy. Located in Ahuachapan, in the Apaneca region, the Santa Teresa Wet Mill takes advantage of the active geysers and the abundant clear cold and hot spring waters, Onsen no Mizu, to produce some of the finest Premium Gourmet Coffee.

The Bendix Dry Mill is a more standard coffee mill, and exports coffee to Germany, the USA, and Japan. It was built by Marcos’ grandfather, and only produces Specialty and Organic Premium Coffee.

COFINANZAS offices are located at Calle la Loma #214, Colonia Escalon.
