Out of all the beaches in El Salvador, the most prestigious has got to be Costa del Sol. It is filled with large beach homes, and is a popular destination among locals and tourists alike. In comparison to other popular beaches in 
Central America, however, you will be happy to know that Costa del Sol is still not as packed, developed, or over priced!
Costa del Sol is located at kilometer 66, southwest of San Salvador, in the La Paz department. There are three beaches in the are: San Marcelino, Los Blancos, and Costa del Sol. The sailing and fishing in this area.
If you want to make it a multiple day trip and are looking for a place to stay, try the Bahia del Sol. The hotel has cabin style rooms on the Ocean and on the Bay. The beach side is where the swimming is at, but if you have come to Costa del Sol to fish, then stick to the bay. There are a total of 55 rooms, single, double and triple, and 6 town houses.
The place is very nice, and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The only issue is that for some reason the bills are always a problem. I have spoken with other travelers and they all say the same thing: it was a great 
vacation, a great stay, but the bill had additional charges they had no idea were included. So, make sure you always ask what the price of things are, and don’t expect anything to be free.
Other than that, it is a decent place to stay, good for families, travelers passing through, or those just wanting to relax on the beach. There is also a Casino, two swimming pools, nearby restaurants and a Marina for fishers.
