The greatest resource you can have when it comes to travel in Juayua (not counting a Spanish-English dictionary if you don’t speak the language) is the information available on www.juayua.com. The website is actually all in Spanish… so you will need that dictionary for sure!

Budget accomodations in Juayua can be found at Hotel Anahuac on 5a av norte at 1a calle pte near the town center. A night starts at $7 for a bed in either of the dorm style rooms. There are also four private rooms that open up onto a large courtyard that serves as kind of a community hang out spot.

There are lots of little places you can stay in Juayua – one that comes highly recommended is El Mirador. It is run by a local family, and Jose, the head of the household is always around, and always ready to help out.

Everyone pitches in to get things done, which makes staying here like being completely pampered, but in the comforts of your own home… sort of. Eco-Tourism – Natural Protected Area in Perquin

The Area Natural Protegida Rio Sapo is home to the cleanest river in El Salvador, the Rio Sapo. It is located Southeast of Perquin, and spans an area of about 14,826 acres.

The Rio Sapo is formed by the Rio Guaco and the Rio Talchiga, which run over several waterfalls before meeting southeast of the city.

If you are heading to the Natural Park on your way to Perquin, take the turn off at Arambala and make sure you are driving in a 4×4 vehicle! The road to the park can get a little rough.

There aren’t many places to stay in Perquin, your best, and possibly only option is the Hotel Perkin Lenca which is on the Hotel Perkin Lenca, Kilometer 205.5.

Hotel Perkin Lenca hosts a number of mountain cabins which run about $50 for double occupancy. Each cabin is accessed by means of its own foot path, making them quite private. Breakfast is included for all staying in the room. If you are traveling with a group ask about special group rates.

The Multi Plaza Mall in San Salvador is located on Blvd. de los Heroes and is the largest mall in Central America, boasting over 400 stores, restaurants and a multiplex theater.

The complex is huge, so make sure you wear your walking shoes and be prepared to shop! There are many familiar stores for North American travelers and shoppers such as Kenneth Cole, Nautica, Tony Roma’s and Nine West.
